Building on the past wonderful conferences, the theme is “Planting the Seed….Tending the Vine”. This metaphor will allow for structured discussions, workshops and lectures to cover specific techniques for the classroom as well as the challenges of pruning and fertilizing our existing gardens (faculty life). We intend to include students in the delivery of content, introduce the concept of open space conferencing to participants, as well as, showcase the more traditional poster and break-out sessions. “Open space” conferencing is a facilitated way of allowing groups to self-organize around topics of mutual interest with the assumption that all have issues that challenge us, and all have information to share.
