John C. Bergstrom received his BS from the University of Maryland, an MS from Clemson University, and his PhD from Texas A&M University. Bergstrom serves as the Richard B. Russell, Jr. Professor of public policy and professor of agricultural and applied economics at the University of Georgia, Athens.
The Russell Professorship is named in honor of the State of Georgia's late U.S. Senator Richard B. Russell. Russell also served as governor of Georgia and as a state legislator. Funding support for the Russell Professorship is provided by the Richard B. Russell Foundation.
