Adobe Digital Editions 3.0 and above are designed to work with assistive technologies and are designed with support for full keyboard controls (tab navigation and shortcuts), improved text enlargement, and support for high-contrast modes. For Windows there are JAWS, NVDA or Window-Eyes screen readers.
For Mac there is VoiceOver (built in to most iPhones).
While not officially supported by Adobe, there is Google TalkBack for Android devices if you are installing the BlueFire Reader app.
Assistive software must be installed separately and in addition to Adobe Digital Editions or other reader app.
